What is Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy?
Conditions that therapy could help with:
Sleep Disordered Breathing
Snoring
Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ) issues (Jaw popping, limited opening, or pain)
Tongue tie and Tongue thrust
Orthodontic relapse
Head or neck pain
Allergies
Thumb sucking or other oral habits
Tinnitus
An Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist (OMT) uses personalized exercises to correct oral facial dysfunction. When the tongue does not rest on the roof of the mouth naturally, it can cause dysfunction of the facial muscles. This can lead to poor swallow pattern, poor sleep, and restricted airway. With an OMT you can strengthen and tone the tongue and facial muscles to improve breathing, reduce muscle strain or pain, and achieve better overall health. This can benefit adults as well as children. Contact me for a personalized assessment and better understanding of how it can help you!
